THANOS  BOSS OF UNIVERSE

Thanos is a mutant member of the race of superhumans known as the Titanian Eternals. The character possesses abilities common to the Eternals, but amplified to a higher degree through a combination of his mutant–Eternalheritage, amplification and power bestowed by the abstract entity, Death.Thanos's first appearance was in The Invincible Iron Man #55 (February 1973), featuring a story by Jim Starlin that was co-scripted by Mike Friedrich. The storyline from that issue continued through Captain Marvel (bi-monthly: March 1973 – Jan. 1974), Marvel Feature(Nov. 1973), Daredevil (Jan. 1974), and Avengers (July 1974). He returned in an extended storyline that spanned Strange Tales (Feb.–Aug. 1975), Warlock (Oct. 1975 – Jan.1976), Marvel Team Up(March 1977), and the 1977 Annuals for Avengers and Marvel Two-in-One (Thanos does not actually appear until the end of Warlock ). He was also featured in a short backup story in Logan's Run (June 1977)and had a small role in the Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel (April 1982).

In the Ultimate universe, there are a total of eight different Infinity Stones. Some of them were never called out by name, but it's safe to assume that at least six of them were the standard set: Space, Time, Power, Reality, Mind, and Soul.The Infinity Gauntlet was a powerful Dwarven-made Uru glove that was designed to channel the power of all six Infinity Stones.The Infinity Gems (originally referred to as Soul Gems and later as Infinity Stones) are six gems appearing in Marvel Comics. The six gems are the Mind, Power, Reality, Soul, Space, and Time Gems. (Some later storylines, crossovers, and other media feature a seventh of some sort.).It's his accepted method for dealing with the problem. Before he acquired the Infinity Gauntlet and Stones, he had no other option to achieve his goal - pre-Gauntlet Thanos couldn't double anyone's resources, so he was left with only one option (pre-Gauntlet): kill half the population.
